Postpartum Depression and Hospitals
This is my thoughts on postpartum depression. Some of you may or may not know, i had the postpartum depression. Call it mengada or apa apa ke kan, but i think it’s important to take this seriously. What is postpartum depression?
Postpartum depression is a type of mood disorder associated with childbirth. Symptoms may include extreme sadness, low energy, anxiety, crying episodes, irritability, and changes in sleeping or eating patterns.
According to my husb, I wasn’t myself. I was always crying. I was feeling really scared. And when people talk to me i would just go blank. Harhar I don’t really remember half of it, that’s what my husb said la kan. Lol.
I know it sounds cam ish mengada tah pape but I didn’t think i would be the one getting it. Possibly because of my really bad experience at the hospital i gave birth to. Maybe i’m just a really manja person kan. Mengada sangat. But yeah, i had it.
I read on the internet that this happens to some people. Some people even commit suicide or did something bad to the child. I just wish that this kind of things would be taken seriously by the govt hosp. What’s the use of those pamplet about pdd if they’re not treating this seriously.
I’ve seen others when i was warded at the hosp several times crying after the childbirth. I guess it’s because we’re all tired physically and mentally and when we are treated like that, who wouldn’t go crazy. For first timer mom like me who knew nothing. We need help la kan sikit. Sigh. How human of you to go say bad things to a person who just fought their life?
My advice to the woman out there, please, if you have the money to give birth to a private hospt please do. Cause from my experience with the govt hosp.. janganla.
